Are horses the next golf?

“Are horses the next golf”… This question was asked in a Washington Post article today entitled Creature Comforts
Luxury-Home Developers Are Luring Buyers With A Four-Legged Perk. Hint: It’s Not a Claw-Footed Tub
. The article, written by Sandhya Somashekhar looks at new equestrian communities in the Washington, D.C. area that allow suburbanites to have their horses close to home. These communities are not only popping up around our nation’s capital, but all along the East Coast and out West. Sounds like a great plan to me. These communities include riding trails, a sometimes hot commodity, and allow those who don’t own horses or ride to still get the many benefits that simply being around horses brings. Maybe this answers my questions from a recent USA Today article on our booming population. So, that’s where the horses are going… to our community backyards.
