New York Times Travel Show

This weekend, I was looking for more travel inspiration, which isn’t hard for me to find. My friends and I went to the New York Times Travel Show at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City to see what’s new in travel and find more ideas for upcoming Equitrekking adventures. We found a LOT, making planning our upcoming shoots even more difficult.

From Loudoun County in Virginia to Jordon, Puerto Rico and New Zealand, we discovered new riding adventures and upcoming events. This July, there’s the 45th annual Parker Ranch Rodeo on the Big Island. Parker Ranch is a historic cattle ranch, having been around since 1847, and paniolo culture, Hawaiian cowboy culture, thrives on the Big Island. After hearing more about the many, many diverse riding opportunities in Australia, I have that on the list too, as well as Tasmania and New Zealand. But, don’t think we’re only thinking of places far from home. I’ve been hearing about friend’s vacations in Utah for quite some time, so was happy to pick up more information on riding there, as well as the May 12th Americas Cup of Polo match between the U.K. and the U.S. in Leesburg, Virginia.

Now, if only we can find the time to hit them all. I guess that why they call life a journey. I’ll sleep well tonight, dreaming of riding adventures around the world.
