Cross Country Corgi at the Kentucky Three-Day CCI5*

The fan-favorite corgi jump on CCI5* cross-country at the 2023 Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event made for fun photos.

Corgis of the small and fluffy kind are a common sight around the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event. But a corgi of the giant, wooden type certainly is not. The CCI5* cross-country track at the 2023 event, though, challenged horse-and-rider combinations to jump just that. A fan favorite on course, fence A of question 23ABC was fashioned after a corgi.

USA’s Tamie Smith and Mai Baum were one of CCI5* duos that tackled the obstacle. Their double clear round landed them at the top of the leaderboard on a score of 24.2. Overnight leaders Tom McEwen (GBR) and JL Dublin added 5.2 penalties to their score, dropping them to second place with a total of 27.8. Rounding out the top three is Liz Halliday-Sharp (USA) and Miks Master C who moved up the rankings having added just 1.6 time penalties for a total of 28.5.

Below is a look at the fan favorite corgi obstacle and some of our favorite photos from CCI5* cross-country day.
