Olympic show jumping silver medalist, Peter Leone is hosting a regional team jumping competition Sunday, November 4 at the Nielsen family’s Sunnyfield Farm in Bedford, N.Y. First held last fall, the Bedford Cup is a fun day of equestrian sport, camaraderie, and a celebration of Bedford’s beautiful fall season with local and regional horse enthusiasts. The competition includes the challenges of equestrian sport’s traditional show jumping combined with the best of today’s typical courses.

Support for the Bedford Cup is provided by Bedford’s Douglass Elliman Real Estate, Brookledge Horse Transportation, AON Insurance, Hollow Brook Wealth Management, Perennial Gardens, and RIDE equestrian tack and apparel.

Great food and drink will be enjoyed by guests while they relax and watch Olympic, amateur and junior riders compete on the beautiful grass jumping field that once the hosted such world-famous competitors as Olympic team multi-medalists William Steinkraus and Frank Chapot. U.S. dressage rider Mary Lauritsen will perform a musical freestyle test before the start of the afternoon finale. For those without mounts, the young and fearless will test their two legged jumping skills in the Horseless Puissance held at the end of the day.

Gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three teams, as well as the top three individual competitors. The live streaming will begin at 12pm EST at the link below.
