Emotions ran deep during the cross-country phase of eventing as the horse-and-rider athletes put in their all for the biggest event of their careers.

True to the sport of eventing’s nature, today’s cross-country phase was rife with emotion. After years of preparation, riders and their teams experienced incredible highs and major disappointments as they tackled the challenging course designed by France’s Pierre Le Goupil at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Additionally, the cross-country phase of Olympic eventing didn’t disappoint in shaking up the standings with the many difficult questions the course posed to horse-and-rider athletes. Following dressage on Saturday, cross country took place at the Paris Olympic equestrian venue at the stunning Chateau de Versailles on Sunday. Show jumping is scheduled for Monday.
