Rain Can’t Stop Cosequin® Lexington CCI4*-S Dressage Day 2

Early starters were met with rain on day two of CCI4*-S dressage at the 2023 Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event.

Rain couldn’t dampen the dressage phase of the Cosequin® Lexington CCI4*-S at the 2023 Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event. It came to a close Friday morning. Twenty of the 49 horse-and-rider combinations tested inside the Rolex Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park, but none could best overnight leaders Liz Halliday-Sharp and Cooley Nutcracker—not even herself.

On her second CCI4*-S mount, R Desino’s Cooley Be Cool, Halliday-Sharp moved into the second place spot behind Cooley Nutcracker. Their score was 25.5. Overnight number two Tamie Smith and Solaguayre California were bumped down to the third position ahead of cross-country. There was a tie for fourth place between Smith and Elliot V and Sara Kozumplik and Rock Phantom. Both of these riders went on Friday.

Wet conditions greeted early starters, but the rain held off for the second half of the class. Below you will find a look at some of our favorite moments from Friday’s CCI4*-S dressage competition.

The Cosequin® Lexington CCI4*-S resumes Saturday, April 29 at 9:15 a.m. EST with cross-country.
