Sacramento International World Cup™ Week is officially underway at Murieta Equestrian Center. The two jumper ring schedules are full, and the FEI horses are ready for the qualifying classes and of course, Saturday's $100,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Sacramento presented by Lasher's Elk Grove Dodge Ram.
Fifty-three horses are slated to compete in this afternoon's $36,500 1.5m Grand Prix Qualifier. Check out the line-up here. The class kicks off at 5:30PM PT/8:30PM ET.
Last year's winner Mandy Porter will be hoping to qualify for the NAL class with one of two rising stars WT Ca-Pow and Soren Z. Mandy is especially excited about WT Ca-Pow, Wild Turkey Farm's 9-year-old Holsteiner gelding who she describes as her "heart horse" and "the kind of horse I’ve been striving to produce all my life."
Team USA rider Georgina Bloomberg also competes two up-and-coming horses Chameur and Cessna. Egypt's Nayel Nassar, who's won numerous grands prix and NAL qualifiers with his Lordan, will be showing Lucifer V and Lutz. "The Master of Faster" Richard Spooner also has two in the line-up: Quirado RC and Arthos R.
Several fan favorites and NAL veterans will be hoping for a top finish as well, including Karl Cook and Tembla, Jamie Barge and Luebbo, Eric Navet and Catypso and Nicole Shahinian-Simpson and Akuna Mattata.
