August 27, 2015–Vancouver-based equestrian fashion designer Noel Asmar was delighted to serve as the presenting sponsor of the $126,000 Longines CSI3* at Thunderbird Showpark on August 16th, 2015. This FEI North American League event was the first West Coast stop for this prestigious show jumping event, bringing riders and spectators the world over to beautiful British Columbia, Canada.
During the event, riders from around the globe vied for prize money and points towards the 2016 World Cup Finals in Gothenburg, Sweden. Designed by Ireland’s Alan Wade (London 2012 Olympic Course Designer), the course was challenging for both horse and rider. After an intense jump off between Rich Fellers, Will Simpson and Ben Asselin, Fellers and his horse, Flexible, were ultimately victorious.
The top three riders were awarded handcrafted Italian leather helmet bags courtesy of Noel Asmar Equestrian prior to the press conference. A premium boutique beside the Grand Prix ring retailed the luxurious Noel Asmar leather handbag collection and apparel for riders and spectators alike. Thunderbird graciously played host to equestrian enthusiasts from around the globe and the outdoor event was a sophisticated and classic affair. US Olympic show jumper Beezie Madden remarked in a previous FEI press conference that, “our sport is about elegance and the harmony we achieve with our horses is essential to success.”
“Luxury brands such as Longines and Asmar Equestrian with design philosophies of “elegance is an attitude” and “style in and out of the ring” are perfectly suited to this timeless sport”, stated Asmar Equestrian founder and CEO Noel Asmar, continuing “We at Asmar Equestrian are so proud to be a primary sponsor for an event of this caliber along with iconic brands like Longines, and of course the most talented show jumpers in the world.”
Noel Asmar Equestrian has been a longtime supporter of Thunderbird Showpark, through previous event sponsorships and custom staff apparel. Building this relationship and supporting the growing equestrian industry is key in the success of the sport.
Seeing this event as a monumental success, Jane Tidball, Thunderbird Showpark spokesperson recognized that, “our partnerships with Longines and with Asmar Equestrian, as a presenting sponsor, are raising the level of show jumping in North America. We’ve never seen show jumping this great here in Langley, B.C.”
Noel Asmar Equestrian will continue to be present at Thunderbird Showpark throughout the season with their punch pink jumps and lifestyle and show fashions available on site through various vendors.
