Practical Horseman Podcast: Caroline Pamukcu

Hear from top U.S. eventer Caroline Pamukcu as she shares about training with Pippa Funnell, the Pan American Games and the year ahead.

This week’s episode of the Practical Horseman Podcast, sponsored by Purina, is with top international eventer Caroline Pamukcu.

Pamukcu was a guest on the Practical Horseman Podcast back in 2021—episode 47 if you want to check it out. But a lot has changed since then. The previous podcast title is Caroline Martin because she has since gotten married and changed her last name to Pamukcu!

In addition to that big life event, Pamukcu has experienced change and growth in other areas of her life, too. In 2022, Pamukcu consolidated her sales business and moved to England to train with Olympian Pippa Funnell—an opportunity that pushed her to grow as both a rider and as a horsewoman. Pamukcu speaks about her time abroad, calling it “one of those most humbling but rewarding experiences” of her life.

Pamukcu has since returned to the states. In 2023, she represented her home country at the Pan American Games in Quillota, Chile, where she claimed the individual gold medal aboard HSH Blake. Their efforts also helped the U.S. Eventing Team to a team silver medal.

Now, Pamukcu is ranked 20th on the FEI Eventing World Athlete Rankings list. Additionally, she has her sights are set on a spot on the U.S. Eventing Team for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
