This week’s episode of the Practical Horseman Podcast, sponsored by Purina, is with top trainer and international show jumper, Kama Godek.

Kama has competed at some of the most prestigious venues in the world up to the CSI 5-star level and has worked for the biggest and most respected equestrians worldwide, including Katie Monahan-Prudent and Laura Kraut.

It all began when Kama was a child and her family went on vacation to a dude ranch in Colorado. From then on out, Kama made her life horses and worked hard for every opportunity that came her way. In high school, she rode under Monahan-Prudent and then continued to ride in college on an IHSA team.

After college, Kama moved to Europe to continue her riding education, and ultimately stayed for 13 years teaching and showing. While in Europe, she obtained a German Trainers certification from the Westfalian Rider and Driving School in Münster Germany.

In 2007, she started her own international equine sales business: Kama Godek, LLC where she helped international customers find European horses.

And in 2012, Kama returned to the states and and re-established her business in Northern Virginia, now located at Ohana Equestrian Preserve. Kama runs a full service equitation, hunter and jumper show stable that caters to riders who want to improve their competitive performance both nationally and internationally. Over the years, Kama has produced countless horses and riders from the local circuit to the FEI level.
