Will Coleman Painted Saddle

To bid on this saddle, click here.

Artist: Larissa Ann

Location: Zoetis Booth #37 at the Zoetis Schooling Complex

About the Saddle

Art is personal, and the details of this saddle tell some of Will Coleman’s family story. After reading about Will’s childhood and his father’s passion for fox hunting, I knew I wanted to include something in his honor. I painted a fox watching Will and “Off the Record” aka “Timmy” above the cross-country scene. The flowers on the knee roll are dogwoods, the state flower of Virginia where Will was raised and still trains today.

The opposite side of the saddle celebrates the beauty of Kentucky where the Rolex Three-Day Event is held. Goldenrod is the state’s flower, popping up along the roads which lead to beautiful stables like the iconic Manchester Farm. The peaceful scene unfolds below a galloping mare and foal, a popular sight in the bluegrass state.

Last, the saddle’s seat features flowers from both states surrounding a pair of cardinals in flight. These beautiful birds represent both Virginia and Kentucky, and are believed by many to be an omen of good fortune. I hope they bring luck and safe rides to everyone who sees them!

Liz Halliday-Sharp Painted Saddle

Artist: Sandra Beaulieu

Location: Redingote Booth #179 at the Trade Fair

About the Saddle

For Liz’s saddle I wanted to incorporate some key elements that represent her personality and lifestyle. In addition to being an event rider she is also a race car driver so I included checkered flags and a winding road. I also thought the cross-country course on the top of the saddle went with the “racing” theme with the Start and Finish. Her barn colors are navy and orange so the overall color scheme features those colors along with a rich green as a complement color. I chose two of Liz’s competition horses to include on the saddle, the grey horse is Cooley Be Cool and the bay is Deniro Z.

About the Artist

Sandra Beaulieu is the creative woman behind Art on Horseback, blending her skill as a dressage trainer with her unique artistic style. She paints on horseback with her special horse Rovandio. They have performed at prestigious events like Equitana, the Equine Affaire, and Breyerfest. Sandra’s paintings capture the spirit of the horse with minimal lines and vibrant colors. She also trained Rovandio how to paint and he has a beautiful abstract style that is fun to watch.

Lauren Nicholson Painted Saddle

Artist: Sandra Beaulieu

Location: Foxden Equine Booth #124 at the Trade Fair

About the Saddle

I reached out to Lauren to see what kind of hobbies she enjoys in her personal life, one of which was gardening. I decided to incorporate a strong floral theme and colors so that the horses would really pop. I really enjoyed painting the flowers and the clouds! Lauren is competing with two horses at Land Rover so I included both of them on the saddle. Her grey horse is Landmark’s Monte Carlo and the bay is Vermiculus.

Artist: Kira Karpinski

Location: World Equestrian Brands Booth #109 at the Trade Fair

On Buck’s saddle, I chose to do a beautiful forest scene. It was just an artistic choice, I think it’s soft and beautiful in contrast to his bold red and yellow colors, which I chose to do on the lower half of his saddle.
