A photo recap of eventing competition at the 2021 Summer Games in Tokyo

After four days of intense eventing competition in Tokyo, Japan, team and individual medals were awarded to the top eventers in the world. In team competition, Tom McEwen, Oliver Townend and Laura Collett claimed the gold medal for Great Britain with a final score of 86.30. Australia earned the silver medal with a team score of 100.20, followed closely by France with a team score of 101.50 to claim the bronze. 

In individual competition, Germany’s Julia Krajewski became the first-ever female Olympic Eventing gold medalist aboard her 11-year-old Selle Francais mare, Amanda De B’neville. Following dressage and cross-country, the dynamic duo went into show jumping with an individual score of 25.6, and added only minimal time penalties to finish on a score of 26.00 and claim the gold. Great Britain’s Tom McEwen and his mount, Toledo De Kerser, earned a final individual score of 29.30 to take home the silver medal, followed closely by Australia’s Andrew Hoy and Vassily De Lassos with a 29.60 to claim bronze.
