Fierce Competition Guaranteed at Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Lexington

Some of the world’s best riders, including World Equestrian Games™ competitors, will contest the $250,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Lexington this weekend.

The best jumpers in the country are flocking to the horse capital of the world for the $250,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Lexington. The World Cup qualifying event takes center stage at the historic CP National Horse Show on Saturday, November 4 at 7 p.m. ET.

The event is part of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ North American League, which consists of 14 competitions in which elite riders attempt to qualify for the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final Gothenburg in April 2019. Fourteen riders from the North American League will receive a ticket to the Final—seven riders from the East Coast sub-league, three from the West Coast sub-league and two each from Canada and Mexico.

To qualify for Saturday’s Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Lexington, riders will need to compete in the $135,000 International Jumper Classic, held on Thursday, November 1 at 8 p.m. ET.

A Star-Studded Lineup

Spectators can expect to see some of the best riders in show jumping, including top Americans McLain Ward, Laura Kraut, Beezie Madden, Kent Farrington, Leslie Burr Howard and Margie Goldstein Engle.

Almost all of the riders in the top 10 of the current Eastern sub-league rankings will be competing, including the current leader, Molly Ashe Cawley who holds the top position with 29 points, followed by Georgina Bloomberg and Lucy Davis, both with 28 points. Mattias Tromp, Beezie Madden, Shane Sweetnam, McLain Ward and Margie Engle are also in the top 10 and will be competing.

Rowan Willis (AUS) and Blue Movie, who finished 12th in September’s World Equestrian Games™ will also be making an appearance, as well as Amanda Derbyshire (GBR) and Luibanta BH, who finished 17th individually and Karen Polle (JPN) and With Wings, who finished 21st, will also be contesting Saturday’s World Cup qualifier.
