Horses Jumping Hounds on Cosequin® Lexington CCI4*-S Cross Country

A new addition to the CCI4*-S cross-country course at the 2023 Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event had horses jumping over hounds!

A fun new addition to the Cosequin® Lexington CCI4*-S cross-country course had horses jumping over hounds at the 2023 Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event! Fence A of question 7AB at the Cosequin® Cove featured a dachshund jump carved by Tyson Rementer.

At the end of the day, Canada’s Karl Slezak and Hot Bobo came out on top with a score of 29.3. The duo’s double clear round pushed them straight to the top of the leaderboard from overnight seventh place to first. Next, USA’s Tamie Smith and Liz Halliday-Sharp swapped positions on the scoreboard. Smith and Solaguayre California moved up from third to second place. They added just 2.4 time penalties to their dressage score for a total of 30.0. Halliday-Sharp and Cooley Be Cool racked up 5.6 time penalties. However, that knocked them down from second to third on a total score of 31.1.

Here’s a look at some of our favorite moments from Saturday’s CCI4*-S cross-country competition.

The Cosequin® Lexington CCI4*-S resumes Sunday, April 30 at 11:00 a.m. EST with show jumping.
