Horses Get Kick Out of CCI5* Dressage Day 2 at Kentucky Three Day

Equine athletes get a kick out of the second day of CCI5* dressage at the 2023 Kentucky Three-Day Event in Lexington.

Some of the 18 CCI5* horses got in a kick or two during the second day of dressage at the Kentucky Three-Day Event on Friday. Others put their best hooves forward. Yasmin Ingham (GBR) and Banzai du Loir bested teammates and Day 1 leaders Tom McEwan (GBR) and JL Dublin. Another Day 1 pair, Tamie Smith (USA) and Mai Baum, stayed near the top of the leaderboard in third. Will Coleman (USA) and his five-star first-timer Chin Tonic (USA) landed in fourth. Liz Halliday-Sharp (USA) and her five-star first timer Miks Master C are in fifth.

Here’s a look at some of the horses who kicked up their heels as well as those who stayed focused on the job at hand.

CCI5* competition at the 2023 Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event resumes Saturday, April 29, at 1:20 p.m. EST with cross-country.
