FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final Kicks Off

The 2023 FEI World Cup™ Finals Omaha kicks off with a total of 43 jumping horses passing the First Horse Inspection.

The 2023 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final kicked off this afternoon with the First Horse Inspection. The Ground Jury passed 43 horses and held one horse for reinspection tomorrow.

This is the first installment of the FEI World Cup™ Finals in Omaha, Nebraska, April 4-8. In addition to the jumping final, there will be the FEI Dressage World Cup™ Final. And the Burlington Capital FEI Vaulting World Cup™ Final will make its first appearance in North America.

For the jumpers, 41 riders and 45 horses from 19 countries earned invitations to the Final. Santiago Lambre (BRA) and Chacco Blue II withdrew before the inspection. At the inspection, the Ground Jury held Nurjon Tuyakbaev’s (UZB) Lancelotta and will reinspect the horse tomorrow.

A Who’s Who of Riders

The list of jumping contenders now moving on to the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final includes the World’s Number 1 rider Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) and King Edward. Jumping World Cup defending champion Martin Fuchs (SUI) is here with Leone Jei. 2012 Olympic team gold medalist Scott Brash (GBR) is here with Hello Jefferson. And Daniel Deusser (GER), who won the 2014 FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final, and Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z will compete as well. Olympian McLain Ward (USA) and Callas and his 2018 World Equestrian Games gold medal teammate, Devin Ryan (USA) and Eddie Blue are two of nine riders representing USA.

The Competition Continues

The jumpers will have a training session in the main arena tomorrow at 1 p.m. CDT. For a complete entry list of horses and riders in the Longines™ FEI Jumping World Cup Final, click here.
