The event, one of only two five-star competitions in the United States, ran from October 19-22, 2023. Ireland’s Austin O’Connor won the event riding Colorado Blue. He was the first Irish winner of a CCI5* in 58 years. He went into show jumping in fourth place, but moved up the rankings as the riders ahead of him had rails down in the final phase.
Great Britain’s William Fox-Pitt and Grafennacht placed second, and fellow countryman Oliver Townend and Cooley Rosalent placed third. Hannah Sue Hollberg and Capitol H I M were the top U.S. finishers in fourth place. And another fan favorite, Mia Farley, placed fifth with her Thoroughbred, Phelps.
